Why is vacation never long enough? *sigh*
Anyway, Los Angeles was everything that I expected and more. LA, unlike other cities, is wide spread and has more to offer than just hi-rises. (Really, they have virtually none! You know, because they have like, earthquakes.) The lack of hi-rise buildings gives Los Angeles the unique quality of being able to see the whole city from the top of any hill right down to the Pacific Ocean.
As expected the traffic in LA was atrocious and the drivers might have even be bigger assholes than those in NYC. However, the LA scenery made up for being stuck in a line of 200 cars for no reason.
Like most places there are definitely more attractive parts the city than others. To name a few there’s Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, and Hollywood. These places included alluring beaches and rolling hills that had an abundance of hiking trails, for daily adventures and small getaways. While exploring LA with old friends, I had the pleasure of meeting new people, and encountering many interesting and unusual characteristics of the city. This past week was truly and vacation that I will not soon forget.
